The Course is around 5 to 8 hours per day, six days a week, for 8 weeks. (Entry only 9 people)
The Teacher training course at Yoga India is offered 4 times a year. For more information about dates please contact Yoga India via e-mail.
The Course lasts for 8 weeks. To join the course you are required to stay for the full eight weeks. Classes will be given from Monday to Saturday.
The goal of the Teacher Training Course is to bring the future teachers in the position to teach beginners and intermediate students with knowledge and self-confidence.
The TTC is only for experienced or at least intermediate students.
The Teacher Training by Yoga India is divided into 7 parts. It is designed to meet the expectations of the Yoga Alliance.
The 7 parts are:
1. Technique, includes the training and practice of: asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, and meditation
2. Teaching: includes the training and teaching of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher and the student's process of learning
3. Anatomy and Physiology: includes the study of physical anatomy, the skeleton, organs and muscles, cardiovascular system, Pancha Kosha & nutrition
4. Philosophy and Ethics: this part includes the study of yoga scriptures, ethics for yoga teachers, life of a yogi
5. Practicum: In these hours the students have to observe and assist classes lead by the main teacher and also teach by themselves.
6. Karma Yoga: the students have to help to run the Yoga-school. Includes office work, organization and public relations.
7. Self-practice: study of books and discussion and practice of all above mentioned topics in a group.

The students have the possibility to observe and assist the main teacher for approximately 10 lessons. During that time the students gain knowledge of the methodology of teaching which includes the principles of demonstration, instructions and observation.
Additionally, the students have the possibility to teach at least 5 hours with the supervision of the main teacher and eventually unsupervised.
The basics of anatomy and physiology will be introduced and explained by an experienced local doctor. Topics will include; the structure and function of the skeleton, the main organs and muscles and the respiratory and the cardiovascular systems.
