Sli Na Bande originated in the minds of Marlene and Douglas in the 70's,when Marlene wrote her thesis on the 'Report of the Club of Rome.They decided to find out for themselves whether it was possible to build a homeland to live in harmony with their surroundings so they built their house with environmentally friendly materials and planted 3500 deciduous trees on the 7 acres of Sli na Bande.
