Institute of Yoga - Florence
The Institute of Yoga in Florence promotes all kind of activities related to the Yoga art. We try to follow the path as illustrated by Patanjali, a great indian yogi.
Hatha yoga courses are offered to anyone who wants to increase his/her awareness of the body with the use of specificic postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama).
There is a special course for aged people, created specifically for them, for not to stress too much their junctions and to better follow their specific needs.
Every year we organize a meditation course for the seekers of the inner path, trying to be more present in every moment, every (non)action of life. Every thursday we meet to meditate all together.
We offer also a special programme of study and formation, which is more intense, and will give you a more deep knowledge of the discipline, a basis to prepare future yoga teachers.
The Institute hosts courses of Taekwondo (poomse), Feldenkeis, Tai Ji Quan too.

We offer hatha yoga lessons every day, from Monday to Friday. Every lesson lasts one hour, usually starting with a relaxation. Then we try to explore the body and the breathe, step by step, seeking to re-tune with our inner armony. Lessons are opened to everyone, we do not split the experience offered into levels, because we think that everyone has his/her own awareness to grow, and this does not depend upon the exercise, the posture you do, but on the concentration you have. Every thursday we have the meditation eveninig, when we meet to share this peaceful moment all together, trying to turn our awareness a little bit more inside, watching our breath and chanting a mantra. During the year you can find various workshops, spacing from the body and its specific needs to intense pranayama practices. For the ones who really want to deepen their yoga path, every month we offer special groups of study and formation, aiming to become aware of the body/energy/mind movements and to not be attached to them. These meetings will also provide the pupil with the techniques and the experience to teach yoga to others.
