Hi Happyfish (I love your screen name),
How do I let go? Great topic. It can be challenging to let go. I think I just let go by making the choice to do so, which can be very hard. Like when I am at work and have been very challenged by a situation, so I do my best to handle it and then I say to myself "okay, I have done all I could, now time to let it go to the universe." Not easy always, but I attempt it and practice this way.
In terms of asanas, I have been letting go by sitting in lotus or easy pose, and doing the nadi shodna (I fear I am spelling it wrong, sorry yogi's) or alternate nose breath. Very calming and soothing and I feel "evened out" after I do it. I highly recommend this.

Thks, toast, i like my name too
I am still figuring out now how am i let go...very much like you, after i hd enough with those things that caused me "suffering", then i told myself "just let go"... off course, it is not easy as just say like this way...but it hd gone through many struggling mental processes, internal fighting...before i reach that decision to let go .....
btw, i love what u say abt let go of sitting in lotus..as simple cross legged or any simple sitting postures is good enough..as due to different body flexibility and anatomy structure..some of us might find difficulties sit in lotus pose or achieve some postures... if they force themself into that pose, they might get hurt... "yoga is healing not hurting" well, i love to say this...

The Story of 2 Boxes
I have in my hands two boxes
Which God gave me to hold
He said "Put all your sorrows in the black box
And all your joys in the gold"
I heeded His words, and in the two boxes
Both my joys and sorrows I stored.
But though the gold become heavier each day,
The black was as light as before.
With curiosity, I opened the black,
I wanted to find out why,
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole
Which my sorrows had fallen out by.
I showed the hole to God and mused,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be."
He smiled a gentle smile and said,
"My child, they're all here with me."
I asked God why He gave me the boxes,
Why the gold and the black with the hole?
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessing.
The black is for you to "let go". "

Fishi, Toast...
To let go means to do nothing about it, and be able to feel the intense feelings that result

Lanaya, lets play GG Client k?
anywayz, to let go cud simply mean to forget/disregard/ignore something, depending on the situation of course.
for example, if you have a PAST experience that deeply bothers you, to say that you have "let go" of that experience means that it should no longer bothers you something like that..
i have a great illustration/metaphor
for a person to let go of something is like
let hand = person
let stone = something
let droping stone = process of the person letting go of something
so just imagine yourself holding that something, upon releasing the stone from your hand, it means
you have just LET GO.. :D

Hi all,
I once played a game in the class at the end of session, i gave them 2 papers, yellow and red, i wanted them write all their strengths, their positive attributes, things makes them proud and happy in yellow paper.....and the contrast in red paper...their nageative attributes or anything they don't like abt themself...
after they done... i want them to take out the red paper...and i brought the dustbin in front...and ask them to tear the red paper and throw in the dustbin... and keep the yellow with them ...
may be you guys can share your thoughts why I was playing this game with them ..........
P/s
1) Hi luckheart, i remember this from one of the talks, it goes like this, if someone scold us once, when we don't let go, and every time we think abt how he scold us, he scold us again.. if we keep on thinking abt that, he scold us again and again in our heart.... indeed he only scold one time, but our heart allow him/her scold us & to be hurt again & again.. same here, if you don't forgive ur friends because he/she betray u... u allow the feeling of betray comes to u again & again everytime u think abt it..
To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you. ~Lewis B. Smedes
Btw, this is just my little thoughts... let's welcome other opinions abt their viewpoints ???
2) Hi Iccarus, i am really interested in what your study abt the development??? Can u share more with us??

hi happy fish
Iam taking up Bachelor of Science in Development Communication, basically it is the effective use of communication for the sake of development. In my course we frequently discuss societal problems and issues and how communication plays an important role in solving these issues.
You see, we are trained to see things in thier developmental angle. Instead of seeing a river full of trash, garbage and negative elements, instead of blaming it all on the people and the authorities who have neglected thier jobs, instead of nagging about the issue which will only surely aggrevate the situation, we choose to think and speak in terms of HOW DO WE IMPROVE THE RIVER? How do we improve the lives of the people living in the river? Who are to be informed and contacted to help these people live better lives. In this way you could probably say that it is a social course but nontheless a science degree.
We are trained to be critical and emperical in writing about issues and not be swayed but hundreds of fallacies out there. My major is what they call, "Science Communication", it is basically the process of reporting scientific events. methods, process and workings in such a way that our target audience would find it easy to understand. The process is called "popularization"
hheehhe :D
