Just a question for all of you who have been practicing yoga for quite some time now. Does Yoga help you become more spiritual or did it (in any way) help you improve your spirituality?

i've been practicing yoga for 3 months, so far I noticed how I am more sensitive of my feelings and other's feelings as well. And it serves as a "self reflection" for me..

Yoga, for me, clears my mind so I can be open to spirituality, so I would say, yes it does help me to be more spiritual. With the day-to-day mental clutter that I have to deal with the time I reserve for my practice always gives me back my mental and physical equilibrium so I am able to feel and experience life through a more “in the moment” place. I am still exploring what spirituality means to me and how I fold it into my life but one thing I know is yoga keeps that exploration happening.

Cheers,

KK from New York

I guess what I've noticed is that I got to know myself better and realized that it feels so good to be live a healthy life. Now I'm more at peace not like before when I can be totally frantic and grumpy, with regard to being more "spiritual" I think like kkentner I'm still in the process of exploring and discovering things.

I wish we could speak more about spirituality in yoga than about material body. The spirituallity of a person as a lot to do with the healt. Even the body feel well, we cant tell if it is real deap healt. There one day in life when we face the truth about what we are, that day, it is not the body that will help. It is not the bdy that suffer the most is it the ego of the person.

I would also love to talk about spirituality. It would be very nice if we people could share our thoughts and experience in this path.
Thanks

Yes, yoga has helped me spiritually. I used to meditate daily, but between meeting my husband and having my baby, I do not have the time to meditate. I know, sad.
But yoga has been my form of meditation and has helped me spiritually get closer to God and reflect on my inner-self. It helps me escape from the daily stressors that I face and leaves me feeling calm and serene.

Namaste,
Renee

So there is one book of Patanjali where he speak to a devote. I used to think it was a good book to study, for me. I spend so much time about it. Where yoga is presented as everything is going to be with god and god itself, as the higer force. Yoga is not a religion but in include the possibility to beleive in a higher force. For any move in life in reference to this force. And what is absolutely deep about it is to understand that our divine nature is in the heart place. As much as we practice to find this sweet place inside, as much we inprove and get access to this place easely. It become easyer and easyer. Patanjali refer to this place in may be tow differents books in yoga sutras. May be three time I beleive, from my remembering. This statement is ruling my life.

Hello,
This is really a nice feelings that you discovered through your long practice. Which is known as "Self-Realization". And if anybody practices Self-Realization then God-Realization will come automatically. Yes Yoga is not religious but this is the way to realise the supreem power within us, within every individual.

Thanks for sharing ...........

Thank you very much. I appreciate.
For the one who beleive it is knowledge. I beleive it is only something simple we get in practicing yoga everyday, even when you practice only nyama and yama it is yoga too. There is many many differents aspect in yoga and we have access to all of that. We have the entier life to progress in it. If I was only doing asanas I could not understand life as I do now, If I only pay attention to my body fitness, I lost the higher force link to. We are all, on earth, linked to the higer force. We should practice to reach it, by accessing to hour heart.
