Children should not be doing pranayama and Yoga is not typically a tool used for increasing human height. Rather it is a tool for the mindful evolution of human consciousness.
Yoga is everywhere and nowhere at all

I find that when my son, who is 3, is acting up and I am getting impatient, I will close my eyes and take a few deep breaths through the nose. my son sees this and then calms down and takes some deep breaths himself. its not pranayama, but it is a focus on teh breath and that brings us back to the present moment
If the child's hight is not developing properly, than most probably this has to do with the function of the Pituitary Gland. For more information see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pituitary_gland
To correct this, the child could do the classical hatha-yoga exercises and try to practice some concentration, which however is difficult for children. But before the age of 12 the child should not practice any upside-down exercises like Sirsasana or Sarvangasana, since they also have influence on the pituitary gland. I hope this helps.
We should better pay attention to the child's diet. Also ensure that he is not stressed by the weight of studies or some such thing.Be sure that he plays outdoor, under the sky.
Yoga is a path to Nature.Child is still in the lap of Nature .If there is any problem note the obstruction in his/your lifestyle which may be causing problems in his growth and remove them.
Yoga is a nice way to help increase in height specially for the growing children. Most of the yoga postures strecthes the spine and this promotes optimum growth. Yoga helps you correct your posture so that your spine is always straight and therefore, is able to grow. There are many exercises to get taller within yoga. These height increasing exercises focus on stretching the muscles along the spinal column so that they become flexible and can elongate easily. They are Tadasana, Tiryaka Tadasana, Kati Chakrasana, Surya Namaskara, Ardha Matsyendrasana.

‘The trees go on growing without anybody teaching them how to grow. The animals, the birds, the whole existence needs no programming.’
‘Trust to the life within you to express itself perfectly.’
Let us ensure that we do not tamper with natural growth of the child.Only we should create environment for growth.
