|Is it OK to practice agnisara before your periods? I used to get a sore tummy caused by wind and constipation and find it gives me great relief. I also don''t suffer from abdominal cramps. Should I refrain once my cycle starts or is it ok to continue if it helps?|

This sort of question should ideally be answered by those teaching you the practice of Yoga. Different expressions or styles of the practice teach and advocate different things - some of them very safe and not effective, others very effective and not very safe.
I can give you the answer I would give my students. And that is as follows:
This sort of pranayama is a very fiery, aggressive, powerful pranayama. It is not intended for the uninitiated (those who have not addressed Yama, Niyama, and Klesha in their living and have not yet mastered an alignment-based asana practice or the beginning pranayama of Viloma I/II Radiant breath, and Ujjayi).
During one's cycle the asana and pranayama should support the energetic flow of gently cleansing the body. Therefore, certain things are not done (as they go against the grain and are too yang when yin in mandated). During this time even those advanced students who may occasionally be doing more powerful pranayama should stop doing so until their menstruation is finished.
