Hello guys my name is Kenneth. Im 17 years old and i do not do any type of yoga. I am however a b-boy "windmill, head spin, foot work, ext". I do stretch to gain more flexibility. My favorite pose is lotus and i am trying to combine it with power moves. Like air flare lotus, " spinning while in the upside down position with your hands while in lotus" of course i do not have enough strength for that. One of my favorite b-boys is rubberlegz and he has alot of flexibility. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5TCiHej2LA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFHrgJoAobw That being said i want to put my legs over my head. I know its not easy and it takes dedication and practice. I was wondering if anyone has detailed tutorials with pictures and other helpful things. I do not know anything about calming down the mind to reduce pain, i assume its done in yoga. Sorry for the intro and thank you for any help.

we can't gain all this within certain time limits. It depends on the time shedule we take to practice, our own speed of progress, certainly our dedication and many more aspects. So we 've to collect relevant informations, available in these sites, and have to practice daily.it's all ..all the best

Hello Kenneth,
It would probably be best for you to contact a group of contortionists or gymnasts for the sort of information you seek.
While it is very common to perceive Yoga as the physical postures, it simply is not so. I'll spare you the details as I don't believe they would interest you.

Looks to me that all you need are a few rubber mats, a pair of tight pants and lots of time on your hands. Keep practicing. Whatever it is that you are practicing, when you are consistent you will get there. While you are at it, you may want to get a frequent customer discount at the nearest chiropractor's office. :)

Yes you're right tutata it takes a lot of practice before you can master this. I guess it's better if you'd talk to someone who's experienced with this sport, like what purnyoga advised you. It would be dangerous if you'll be trying it all by yourself. anyways, goodluck!

i do a couple of leg stretches that may help. laying on your back, one leg straight down, the other straight up, big toe in hand. bend your knee toward your shoulder/armpit and pull gently your foot out. not too hard, though, you will surely hurt yourself. also, on your back, legs straight over your head, touching the floor with your toes; bend your knees next to your ears. it's not as easy as one would think, but both of these will help, i think, to get your legs stretched as you need. it does take time, though. good luck!
