Hello panda8898,

You are welcome to this forum. If you don’t mind your profile states that your 11 years old. So please let us know the actual age. You said that you had back pain, so now pain is not there! If you still have pain then which area of back and how long have you been suffering from. How did you develop pain, I mean due to accident or any thing else? Please let us know all these so that we can guide you properly. I think Anouk is the best person here to tell you about Viniyoga.

Thanks

Hello,
I teach viniyoga. Vini means adapted, in sanscrit. This kind of yoga include all sorte of yoga, but the teacher teach to the person, the thing the person need. So the student do not have to fit to poses, it is the poses that are adapted to the person. It is same asanas as in all other yoga, but there is not attempt to realise it with performance. Power yoga is teached too in viniyoga as much as therapeuthic yoga personnal practice. Viniyoga is not teached by Internet in forums. The teacher as to meet the student.

Sometime, it is necessary to travel a bit and to meet a good teacher. If you have specific questions about the approach I will answer, but I will not tell you what pose to do if I cant meet you and if I dont know you better.

Actually,
I write in french most of the time, but I do not have enaugh time yet to translate and write as I should. I wanted to write a lot, about many different subject like pranayama, heart, healt, viniyoga, How to chose a teacher, what I wrote in french already. But my humanist duty do noty allow me to spend much time to express more on the net. My many students in viniyoga, the maintenance of my yoga school, my practices and my biologist job take me most of my time. And by now I am pragnant and lead all that at the same time.
And of course, I refuse to treat people on the net. And I do not give yoga as if it was pills. Yoga is powerfull and based on the relationship in between student and instructor. It is a living tradition. And viniyoga respects all yoga aspects as it is fondamental yoga, for every purpose, for any person, for everybody, not for only the elite. In vini yoga we do not consider only one aspect but all in yoga. And the process is a long way, and each person evolute at her own rythm, according to her culture.

Namaste panda8898,

Thanks for the information. Actually you need a Yoga Teacher or Guru to guide you face to face. I am also trying to conduct some disease management Yoga Workshop there. If it happens I’ll let you know definitely. Meanwhile, you please go through the Yoga poses for the back by clicking following: http://www.abc-of-yoga.com/yoga-and-health/yoga-for-back.asp

And then try to practice the following poses:

Wind Relieving Pose (Pavanamuktasana), Fish Pose (Matsyasana), Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana), Child Pose and Locust Pose (Salabhasana). I hope these will be helpful to remove your back pain. Thanks

and I wish you good luck.

Again, I don’t know what type of job you are doing. Anyway, please try to keep your back straight always, while sitting or working with computer, standing and walking. Thanks

Namaste

Namaste Sir,
One should take care of BED right. Cos softer Bed can be a cause of back pain or can increase back pain. So I think panda should avoid softer Bed while sleeping.

hi panda

first thing first..do u pratice yoga???

yes, Yoga represents an excellent therapy for back pain. As there are many excellent asana work on stretching, lengthening the spine and strengthening the supporting muscles as well as increase blood circulation and supplies nutrients to the back. This contributes for a healthy, flexible and supple spine. Thus, yoga is very helpful to alleviate, ease back pain, heal back ailments and prevent back pain.

There are many causes for back pain, for instance, tight hamstring, stiff back muscles, weak abdominal muscles, arthritis, slipped or herniated discs, infection, tumour, bone spurs, bad postures, inflammation of muscles, tendon and ligament, degeneration & etc. Thus, it is advisable to get a correct diagnosis from a doctor first and look for an experienced yoga teacher who can advise on what approach to take.

But if you never practice yoga before, and no teacher there to guide you to do the postures, and you just imitating the pose in the internet or book without knowing the correct technique of doing that, I just a bit worry you might exert addition tension and stress on your back that may aggravate existing pain

wish you luck!!!

Hello Panda

If you really want some recommended poses...personally i wl prefer these two poses i.e. cat/cow pose & child pose, as this is very beginning simple yoga pose yet effective for back pain...

1) Cat-Cow pose (Marjariasana)

This pose stretches and elongates the entire lumbar spine, abdominal muscle, back muscles and nerve junction along the spine. This stimulates spinal fluid and circulation flow into spinal cord. Therefore, this helps to increase the spinal flexibility, heal the spine, build ideal spine alignment, prevents and relief back pain.

2) Child pose (Balasana)

Child pose is simple yet useful asana for relieving back pain. This pose gently lengthens and stretches the entire spine, keeps the spine flexible, relieves lower back tension and soothes back pain.

You may find in youtube some of demo clips of these two poses or in this website..above all, always listen to your body, do it slow & gently, if you feel pain or discomfort, just stop...

but i still hope you can see a doctor to know the root cause or a yoga teacher who is able to guide you personally...

take care!!
