Namaste Subodh,

You are welcome. Your profile states that you are only 11 years old. Please go through your profile and correct it if not so. Please let us know in detail about your problem. By the way where are you located in India? You can easily get a Yoga teacher to guide you properly and that would be more beneficial I think.

Thanks you

Subrata

hi Subodh,

well, in yoga, there is one pose called "wind-releasing pose" pavanamukthasana, as the name suggested it is releasing & expelling the wind or stale air or excess gas in your stomach...

you can refer the animated clips in this website  -   http://www.abc-of-yoga.com/yogapractice/windrelieving.asp

btw, i just realise in this clip, it instructs to start with left leg, as per what i know that we should start with right side first due to our colon start at right side and ended at the left side..you can read my another post (starting right or left) we been discussing abt this there.... well, you may start with either side, right leg/left leg/ & then both leg, use your exhalation to bring your head up...

this is a basic yoga posture that everyone can perform to release the excess gas in stomach even they don't practice yoga at all, so i can share with you this pose here..... but still very curious, are u practicing yoga??

In addition, eat slowly & chew nicely on your food, do not talk while eating, as this may be one of that cause of gas in stomach that you might swallow the air while eating...

well, it is not advisable to do any asana after meal, at least 2-3 hours after heavy meal. As this will increase the burden of our digestion system which needs time and energy to digest the food you’ve eaten... the ideal time to practice asana will be early morning before sunrise & evening (sunset or after sunset), but somehow it seem a bit impossible for people who live in this busy modern society where we engage with different activities, as this may be the time for us to rush to work/school or back from work.... so, do it at your best schedule but remember no asana after meal...

Having said that, the only pose that we can do right after meal is vajrasana (diamond pose or thunderbolt pose) or virasana (hero pose), this are kneeling pose where vajrasana is sit between the heels while hero pose is sit on the heels. These two poses are useful to increase digestion as it creates an automatic natural lumbar curve that keep the adbodmen open yet taut, this helps to enhance the blood flow to the organs of the abodminal region thus improve digestive function. The only concern for beginners who might be still new in sitting in this pose will feel numbness of the legs, so, it is essential whenever your feel numbness or discomfort of your legs, just sit in dandasana (staff pose )and waggle your legs up & down & stretch your toes inwards and outwards.

so what i can say on yoga poses that are good for digestion, personally i feel forward bending and twisting posture, as in these pose, the abdomen is compressed by another body part is very useful for digestion. As these postures massages the adbominal organs, stimulates peristlasis, increase the digestive fire and encourage elimination.

For twisting pose are ardha Matsyendrasana (half spinal twist), Jathara Parivritti (revolved twist), Marichyasana (the sage twist) & etc. While for forward bending poses are Paschimottnasana (head to knee pose), uttanasana (standing forward bend), Janu Sirsasana & etc

Again, honestly, i don't know if you practice yoga before... , but i would really hope you are not trying these forward bending/twisting posture by your own, it is better to ask for ur yoga teacher who can guide you the proper technique of doing these poses .....

one more thing, when u do pavanamukthasana, breathing normally when you in the final pose. never ever hold your breathing in final position.....

enjoy yogaing!!

think u should see a doctor and let ur body hv a good rest!!!

Yoga is healing, but only with consistency practice & patience, sometimes, we just can't expect yoga like medicine which can brings immdeiate remedy overnight ...., yet, with persistent practice, yoga brings enormous benefits not only healthy body but our mind & our spirit!!!

Agree. I get these unwanted surprises as well. I realized that when I'm not relaxed, I suddenly get such gas attacks

i totally agree with happy fish. Yoga is not a quick fix, just like vitamins they cant be expected to act like cures to basically any illness we can think of. When practiced with diligence and proper diet however, the rewards are really something to look forward to.
