Have you ever tried any preventative measures so that you are not so congested or runny before practice? There are a few things you can do some are more obvious than others ....
1.) Blow your nose
2.) Use a Neti pot to help clear nasal passages and rid bacteria.
3.) Smell some Peppermint essential oil.
4.) Perform breathing exercises, Nadi Sodhana (Alternate nostril breathing).
5.) Breath of Fire, but only once you are able to pass air through your nostrils.
6.) Avoid wearing any type of perfumes, lotions, colognes, etc incase you are sensitive.
It would be a shame to give up certain poses because of mucus build up. If you have a more serious medical condition such as a deviated septum, then it is understandable that these alternatives may not work for you. But hey its worth a try! Hopefully something will work, and if not I'll post more about specific poses. Overall any pose where you or your head is inverted is going to bring the mucus up and give you that inability to breath through your nose. Namaste

Eliminate dairy and cold beverages from your diet first. Then report back and we'll go from there.

I had asthma as a kid and still have a lot of allergies today. I basically can't breathe through my nose and have to clear my throat all the time. Yeah I blow my nose every morning and also I pop my ears too. The nasal, ear, and throat canals are pretty much one route. They all affect each other.
Healthy breathing is pretty much the central practice of yoga. Each inhale must match the corresponding exhale in duration and intensity, and they must be in sync with your bodily movements (that's what Vinyasa means). And hopefully you'll reach a point where you feel the benefits of yoga loosening up everything inside you, which allows for better flow of blood and oxygen throughout your whole system.
when i started yoga i couldn't breath thru my nose only keeping my mouth shut. i don't know why it was, but i just did what felt comfortalbe for me, and then eventually i got it. hey, and alternate nostil breathing helps me when i feel blocked in my breathing.
i have a big problem with my nose its blocked all the time i have been doing yoga for three months now but i still have the same problem when i do my yoga
First of all you need to know the cause of your problem of hair loss. Of course, practice of yoga will help you reducing stress, especially relaxing in Savasana, and meditation.
I heard that it is benefit for respiration system, especially u wash ur nose after practice. netipot is a good things, it is used easier and useful to our respiration. relax ourself quickly!
This can be from so many reasons. I think you need to talk to your GP as quick as possible about that. Also if there is any kind of hair product you are using at the moment you'd better stop it and see if it helps.
If you are having back pains I would say use an aid during yoga classes such as a yoga block. Check out this yoga prop guide for examples of how you can use blocks: http://bit.ly/2VZvdm. For more exclusive tips, become a HuggerMugger Facebook fan: http://bit.ly/DYFDM
I'm not exactly sure if this has been said before but I thought I'd go for it anyway. I dunno if you've ever heard of the concept of practicing to go practice but I think it is fantastic! Mucus is obviously your body's reaction to and effort to rid itself of a negative thing. Therefore, I believe it's best to keep it running and help your body heal. Perhaps if you do some inverted classes before going to class you will be a little more... empty? :)
Pay attention to your entire life style.Asans alone will help little. Do avoid eating food which you are unable to digest easily. My indication is towards non-veg. food, especially red meat. Pranayam,as somebody suggested, alternate breathing, will help a lot.Preferably do it in warmer environment, where the air is slightly warm, even though it is a closed room.Do not avoid doing it in inverted position,as someone suggested. If you do in warmer environment, inverted position will help more. Wash your nose and eyes with cold water whenever you get the opportunity during day time.
Try to have cold water bath two times a day.You can strat with warmer water and end with cold water,if necessary. It will be better if you take sitz bath. Gargling twice a day too will help. Keep the throat covered with scarf if it is very cold. Try to be in the Sun as frequently as possible, and try to interact with the Sun(which is our real source). Let the temperature of the room you sleep in be not very cold, to start with. As far as possible try sleeping on left side. Do avoid scents, lotions, and even room freshers etc.
