Hi everybody,
After some reflections, I decided to put here the dictionary definition of the word Forum, as everybedy will be more conscious of how to interact with others in future. So nobody will tell anybody to stop to participate to the debate. You are welcome everybody to express yourself about your knowledge or to ask for more, to the community.

Hi all
I also have noticed posting problems, and it just isn't working like it was.
Also I do hope people keep in mind this is a forum, and a yoga one at that, as the nice definitions provided states! I had some comments made to me that were unkind, as I know some others were the target of also. Probably a hazard, but anyway-

Hello Ramesh!

I don't know exactly what you are looking for when you travel Abroad or where you would like to go, but I have a few ideas.  I live in the US, and over here we have a huge chain of health centers called the YMCA.  They are an entire fitness center that is family oriented.  The YMCA is located throughout the USA, and most offer classes.  It seems like the YMCA is starting to offer more and more Yoga classes, different styles, different times, different teachers.  Perhaps you could speak with them as they are a large chain, and always looking to better their facility.  I think having a true yoga instructor from India would be incredible (I know I would try your class!)  If you are looking for something that is less commerical, and more true to your home there is a place in New York called OMEGA.  They are a very reputable place, and very true to yoga.  I would LOVE to see you come to America to teach, and I would love to attend a class from you.  Good Luck, and please let me know where you end up!  Namaste

Warmly,
Sara Dawn

Good morning all,
Also keep in mind in the US with the YMCA's that these are chrisitan organizations and they vary greatly on their open-ness to yoga programs.   In many larger cities it is good and fine, and the yoga programs are large and well attended and very popular.   Where I live now, the YMCA's aren't too keen on yoga programs because they see yoga as an eastern spirituality and therefore anti- christian.   An interesting search on the internet is yoga and christianity, and you may find all kinds examples of peoples thought processes in resistance to the system.   I personally dont see a problem with yoga, or even why it would be anti-christian for anyone but fundamentalists.  Depends on the area of the country as I say.

This also is a good topic of discussion.  Has anyone else out there gotton resistance in teaching it/doing yoga?
namatse,

Toast!  Thats incredible!
I never knew that!  What part of the US are you from?  I am located on the East Coast very close to New York.  It's funny because I travel to Pennsylvania on weekends during the fall and spring.  In PA there is a YMCA I used to go to, and over there there is only one Yoga class offered, by one instructor, once a week.  I was stunned to find that out.  Near me there are two main YMCA's.  They offer yoga classes throughout the day (usually between 3 and 7 a day) with many different teachers, and many different styles.  Some involve basic hatha yoga others have chanting, and meditation (they are very spread out)  They have also just started classes such as Aikido, Tai Chi, Belly Dancing, and other styles of exercise seen globaly.  Like I said I live in a community that is becoming more and more open to culture, and it has been seen at the YMCA.    My overall point is that the Pennsylvania YMCA is still quite conservative, where as it is not so much where I reside.  Incredible that you should mention this, it's a very good point, and a very good topic to speak about.  Namaste

the deep South is where I live right now.    I was gonna work at a YMCA teaching a couple years back as a yoga instructor, and I was told the if I used a sanskrit term, or said namaste in teaching I would be fired.   This YMCA took their christianity seriously.....   There was an article in and area  paper some years back about a movement in the YMCA (young mans christian association) where certain Y's depending on their board and who was on it and how they wanted the faciltiy run, would take the christianity thing loosly or firmly.        And since some of these people see Yoga as eastern spirituality, to them it is anti-christian and should not be done.
It is interesting wouldn't you say?     I hope others share in this topic.
