Chakra Meditation Basics

Many believed that chakra meditation has been the common practice in the East in the earlier years. It is described as the art of harmonizing the seven energy centers that our body hold. These energy centers are called as chakras, which greatly affect us physically, mentally and spiritually. To clear the clouds in your head, here are the seven chakras that can help you achieve peace of mind and experience a relaxing feeling:

Crown Chakra – is found on your head, which is connected to your brain. This chakra usually controls our intellect and perception.
Third Eye Chakra or Brow Chakra – is found between your eyebrows, which administers originality and other closely associated functions.
Throat Chakra – is known as the element of sound. This chakra is in charge for communication and ingenuity.
Heart Chakra – is responsible for your feelings such as compassion and love.
Power Chakra or Solar Plexus – is related to the fire element and responsible for your determination and self-sufficiency.
Sacral or Orange Chakra – is related to the water element. It dictates your desire to be with another person, sexuality and other emotions.
Base or Root Chakra – is responsible for your well-being, success in life and safety.

You may have all the chakras in your body but you need to awaken them first in order to enjoy limitless benefits they bring.
