Ashtanga Yoga Weekend Workshop on Feb. 3-5

Prominent Ashtanga yoga practitioner David Swenson will conduct a weekend workshop on February 3 to 5. The workshops will be take place at Yoga Passage Studio in Calgary, Canada. The following is the schedule and details of the workshop:
February 3
Ashtanga Yoga: An Introduction: This class is open to all levels. The basics will be taught along with some demos and discussions. There will also be introduction to Sun Salutations, different mantras, basic Pranayama and more. All the activities will enable participants to deepen their practice.
February 4
Yoga Chikitsa: A fully conducted Primary Series Class:The Yoga Chikitsa class is more appropriate for those who have already encountered Ashtanga Yoga. The class will start with Sun Salutations and will end with profound relaxation.
Flying, Floating and Hand-Standing: The class will be taught the “Physics of Flight” and elements of hand-standing. The activities will be mostly done with partners and will prove to be an educational and fun experience for the participants.
February 5
Balance Length and Opposition of Force:In this portion, the class will be educated on the opposing forces and methods in balance and depth. This way participants will learn how to find balance physically and mentally.
Eight Limbs and Daily Life: Participants will learn Patanjali’s description explanation of yoga and how to apply it in their lives.
Early registration is recommended since slots are limited. The weekend workshop costs $250. Single sessions can be attended for $55.
