Healing through yoga

Faith McIntyre, a yoga instructor who was sexually abused as a child and as an adult, is sharing her yoga skills with others who have also traumatic experiences like her. This was according to a news report by www.tampabays10.com. In St. Petersburg in Florida, McIntyre conducts yoga classes with victims of rape and survivors of crime and war. Because some of these survivors sometimes find it hard to work, McIntyre's classes are for "donation only".
According to the news report, McIntyre professes that yoga literally saved her life. When years of therapy were not enough to control panic attacks and suicidal thoughts, McIntyre practiced yoga breathing and mind-control techniques. "A lot of the anxiety, the suicidal impulses...began to fall away," she says.
