Yoga Program Introduced to India’s CBI

FRIDAY, 22 SEPTEMBER 2006

India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has involved the support of the Prajana Institute of Yoga and Allied Sciences in teaching CBI officers how to de-stress through yoga.

The yoga program is geared towards helping CBI officers achieve a healthy lifestyle and to combat stress and other related ailments. Analysts say that security agencies like CBI have cases of high-level stress among its officers. Through the yoga program, yoga trainers from the Prajana Institute of Yoga and Allied Sciences teach officers how to practice yoga at any location, even in the office.

Officers acknowledge the benefits that the yoga sessions would give them. "Of course, we have understood the basics and now keep going with whatever we have learnt and bring into our daily routine and practice and definitely there will be a change in the way we think and work," said Krishnamurthy, Deputy Superintendent of Police.
