Yoga Guru Criticizes Modern Yoga Teachers
TUESDAY, 31 OCTOBER 2006
A yoga guru, Swami Ji, criticized modern yoga teachers, celebrities and fitness enthusiasts who only see yoga only as a promotion of its art form.
Swami Ji from East Sussex is worried those enthusiasts are only pursuing yoga for financial reasons and that they are not concerned with the mind.
He began studying yoga 40 years ago. According to him, yoga is for those people who can live away with the world.
But contrary to what Swami Ji believes, Pierre Bibby of the British Wheel of Yoga said that it was not a bad thing if the art form was taken up for physical reasons. Likewise, Bibby also said that they can take anything they want from yoga.
