Enjoy a 4-day retreat on July 15-19, 2007 at Kripalu, Lenox, Massachusetts with Sherri Baptiste.
This retreat will weave together the magic and inspiration of Sherri Baptiste’s flowing breath based yoga practice with the dynamic Yoga with Weights system.
In this 4-day program, you will practice the Baptiste Method. The workshop program will include breath based flowing hatha yoga sessions in the mornings that offer inspiration, transformation, and challenge. Also included are breathwork, meditation, and deep relaxation, along with specific postures, with visualization techniques to balance the chakras.
You will practice and take home a variety of techniques to access and sustain mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Afternoons will give time for Yoga with Weights, the partnership and hybrid of two powerful, time-tested exercise systems: yoga and physical culture (free weights).
Working out with weights is one of the best ways to achieve overall physical fitness. The added resistance from the weights forces the deep-core muscles to come into play. Yoga with weights exercises helps you build core stability, bone density, increase lean muscle mass, and balance. The added weights to the yoga postures also offer a deeper sense of physical grounding; this will challenge your balancing skills more intensely than traditional yoga. A yoga with weights practices, while developing a deep and rhythmic breath will help to stimulate your metabolism, target areas in the process of total body conditioning, and this all makes for a beautiful body.
