Yoga & Surfing in Sayulita, Mexico

MONDAY, 29 OCTOBER 2007
Submitted By: sandy stahl

Via Yoga, a world leader in deluxe yoga/surfing vacations, is offering 11 four or six-night yoga vacations from November 2007 through April 2008 at Villa Amor in Sayulita, Mexico.

The yoga vacations are about finding a healthy balance of mind, body, and spirit, but they’re also very much about fun, adventures, and meeting like-minded people. The typical guest-;a young professional with a demanding career-;is looking to de-stress with daily yoga classes, but then wants to fill the rest of their vacation with adventures rather than hours on a beach. In Sayulita, they can surf, ride horses, kayak, snorkel, hike, go mountain biking, or take a zip-line tour through the jungle canopy, and then enjoy the town or spend time relaxing on the beach or their private terrace.

Yoga students of any level are welcome at all the vacations, as classes are tailored to the needs of each student. Some guests come alone, some bring a partner, and others bring friends for a group experience or celebration. Some are new to yoga or have practiced for only a few years. Many have never surfed but are eager to learn. Groups are small, no more than 20. Groups bond quickly during the week, and later find that their vacation has a long-lasting effect, enriching their personal relationships, business interactions, and everyday experiences when they return to regular life. Many return multiple times.

Via Yoga chose Sayulita and Villa Amor as the site for their vacations, specifically for their rugged beauty. Sayulita is a tiny former fishing village on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, in the state of Jalisco; just 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta, it has vast, unspoiled beaches, mountains, and lush jungle. The pretty beach hamlet has long been known for its excellent surf, and although it’s a small town it has a mix of authentic and contemporary restaurants, galleries, and shops. Villa Amor is a classically deluxe resort of 35 beautifully decorated open-air villas nestled on a hillside overlooking Sayulita Bay. Each villa is steps away from the beach, with expansive views of the ocean, village, and mountains.

Every Via Yoga vacation includes roundtrip airport transfers, deluxe accommodations, two daily classes, and an in-room massage. The four-night and six-night Sayulita trips include daily breakfast, three group dinners, and a day trip for surfing or snorkeling.

Via Yoga’s teachers are highly regarded and well experienced. Most offer yoga training and workshops on a national or worldwide level. They represent many different yoga styles.
