Practice Yoga at the Workplace
WEDNESDAY, 20 FEBRUARY 2008
The Alberta Center for Active Living developed online programs that are perfect for those whose jobs require them to sit behind the desk for eight hours or more. The programs called Yoga @ Your Desk and Exercising your Hands and Wrists @ Your Desk are designed for people who want to stay limber at work.
Angela Torry, an education coordinator of the Alberta Center for Active Living, said, “It's important for employees and employers to realize that there are a lot of benefits from incorporating physical activity at the workplace.”
Torry added, “Taking a break once an hour and doing a couple of minutes of stretching helps reduce tensions and move out some swelling.”
