Practice Yoga while Sitting in a Chair

CALIFORNIA - Lakshmi Voelker has created the chair yoga for those who are injured or less limber and those who still want the benefits of yoga. Chair yoga features standard mat yoga poses that can be done without leaving the chair.
Chair yoga classes are offered at the Joslyn Senior Center in Palm Desert. Also, Voelker has launched a yoga DVD. It contains two 10-minute classes and a 35-minute step-by-step guide that teaches the proper way to do each yoga pose. It also provides guidelines on how to adapt the position depending on the individual needs and limitations.
