Thursday, 29 May 2008The First Christian Church is offering a yoga class for busy people from Southern Indiana and Louisville every Tuesday from 6 to 7pm at 3209 Middle Road, Jeffersonville.
The yoga class is basically for busy people, or those who work the entire day or overnight, and who have no time to relax. The yoga class is designed for all skill levels to cater to a wide range of busy people.
Professional yoga teachers will be teaching the class. They will introduce exercises and positions which could help the participants to relax and condition as they overcome stress from everyday life. Participants should bring their own yoga mats.
Each yoga session costs $10. To register, just call Amanda Wagoner or Lorna Knight at 282-1278.

Tuesday, 27 May 2008A biking and yoga workshop will be held at the Mountain Lotus, Vail Athletic Club in Vail, Colorado this Saturday, May 31. The workshop will be facilitated by certified yoga instructor and cyclist Eric Lavigne at the Vail Mountain Lodge and Spa. Pre-register at the Vail Athletic Club. The workshop costs $40 will be held between 10am - 1:30pm.
The workshop is in support of the Nationa l Bike Awareness Month and includes the yoga meditation technique. It aims to promote yoga as a means to create and build cyclists' strength, endurance, and flexibility. All yoga and cycling enthusiasts are invited to join regardless of ability and skill level. Physical and skill issues specific to cyclist's performance will be addressed during the workshop.

Tuesday, 27 May 2008Malaysia - A mass yoga exercise called “Peace Through Yoga” will be held on June 1 at the KL Performing Arts Centre (KLpac) from 7am to 12pm.
Organized by the Soroptimist International Clubs of Petaling Jaya, Bangsar, and Shah Alam and now on its second year, the “Peace through Yoga” aims to raise funds for various projects, including Rumah Sinar (a school for the handicapped), benef iting the street children of Bandung, Supporting Hope In Education (SHINE), and a Youth Outreach Program for underprivileged youth.
People from all walks of life can join the early morning yoga session. The professional yoga instructors will be coming from Malaysia and Indonesia.

Monday, 26 May 2008Lewiston, Poland - Marcy Covey teaches yoga classes for cancer patients. She designed a toolkit that involves relaxation techniques and practices to improve physical and mental well-being.
The yoga class aims to help the cancer patients cope with their situation without losing themselves. It can also help the patients to remain relaxed and hopeful despite of their illness.
Those who are interested to join the class may see Marcy at Wellness Center in 12 High Street at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where she teaches every Thursday, 2-3pm.

Friday, 23 May 2008Delta Yoga and Quapaw Canoe Company will offer a three-day sand bar yoga on a remote island along the Mississippi River. Scotta Brady, a certified Anusara instructor, will handle the yoga sessions, while Conner Burnham will guide the visitors in their relaxing meditation.
This unique trip does not only offer serenity in its yoga session. The island is also a perfect place for differ ent activities such as painting, photography, and drawing.
The trip costs $450, with additional $150 to hold the spot. The registration will be a first come, first served basis. A maximum of ten participants will be accepted. The payment includes gourmet vegetarian cooking which features local fruits and vegetables. The trip will start on Friday morning and will end on Sunday morning. The meeting place will be at the Clarksdale.
