The new yoga book “Simplified Yoga for Backache” authored by celebrity yoga trainer Subodh Gupta is released and available on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles and all other major online retailers.

Back pain is very common and it is one of the most frequent complaints among people. According to a survey published in 2000, almost half of the adult population in the UK (49%) report lower back pa
in lasting for at least 24 hours at some time in the year. 31 million Americans experience lower back pain at any given time.

This book includes simple yoga poses and is a practical guide with a plan on preventing and managing back pain. People most often suffer from lower back, shoulder and neck pain for various reasons, such as: during long hours of sitting at a workstation, working in front of a computer, driving long distances, gardening, lifting a small child from the floor, stress, etc.

However, majority of back pain cases happen because of a weak and inflexible back.

A strong and flexible back creates the foundation for a healthy lifestyle. If our back is not healthy we cannot be healthy. Back pain can be avoided or at least minimised in the first place if our back is strong and flexible.

Simple yoga poses described in this book will not only strengthen the back muscles and bring flexibility to the back but will also help reduce stress. Simplified yoga postures as described in this book can be practiced by everybody, whether young or old, beginner or advanced.

This is a concise book (68 pages) with a large number of photographs to explain each yoga pose clearly. This book consists of 3 parts. The first part of the book contains understanding about back pain, how it affects our body, its prevention and the benefits of yoga. The second part is about simplified yoga exercises for flexibility, strength and reducing stress. The third part is to record your yoga practice and improvement.

Studio Red, a popular space in Toronto's art mecca, The Junction, is responding to the needs of its patrons. Local film, theatre, and visual artists come here to connect, network, brainstorm, receive or give critiques, show art, rent studio space to work in, promote, learn new skills, meet seasoned professionals, and attend arts workshops. Regular music, exhibition, and comedy events bring creati ve people together. But in these times of economic fear and stress, Studio Red founders have noticed that health is sometimes on an artist's backburner.

The arts have been hit hard by the recession, and so Canada's creative industries have taken a crash. Many in these fields are self-employed and don't have full medical coverage, or spare change to prioritize health. Some have developed unhealthy diets and lifestyles (or addictions) to cope with stress. Local artists and owners James Banos and Svjetlana Jaklenec believe that everyone coming through those doors can create better if they are healthy and knowledge-empowered.

Jaklenec and Banos say that's why Studio Red is reopening on July 18 as an arts and wellness commune, a place to "inspire confidence and optimism" among patrons. Studio Red will be offering seminars and panels, and other supports in health subjects like yoga, pilates, and nutrition on the go. Giving artists a place to voice their concerns and learn more about living healthy will foster self-esteem and healthier communities. "We are developing a new unique concept of an art commune," says Jaklenec, "building on the oldest philosophy: healthy mind is healthy body! Everyone can create better with a healthy body and mind."

Access to wellness information and resources, as well as a support network, will mean optimal creativity, endurance and ability to cope with stress at a time when the creative workforce is really feeling a crunch. "Artists often feel a lack of support from organizations, agencies or other artists. It's very hard to dismantle the belief that there is only a very small pie of success available, says Jaklenec. "We want to change that belief. The more people go for and get a piece of the pie, the more popular the bakery - Canadian art scene - will become- and there will be enough for all of us! We will create our own opportunities."

Life and business coach Elizabeth Barbour and yoga instructor Geralyn Russell invite you to join them on retreat at a gorgeous location in St. George Island, Florida on October 15-18, 2009. If you crave rest and relaxation or want to learn how to take better care of yourself, Solitude by the Sea: A Woman’s Retreat for Self-Care and Spirituality is for you.

During this weekend retreat,
you will have ample opportunities to explore solitude. Geralyn will guide you through restorative yoga for relaxation and rebalancing, guided meditation and breathing awareness for quieting the mind, and labyrinth building and walking so you can recreate this calming experience at home. Elizabeth will lead participants through guided journaling and the creation of vision boards. She will also share practical tools and insightful ideas to help you care for yourself in a more loving way. Luxurious accommodations, miles of sand and ocean, and the encouragement of others who are seeking balance and renewal will add to your pampering experience.

“In addition to the retreat weekend in October, we are including three teleconference calls as part of the package,” stated Barbour. “Two calls will be held before the retreat - one in September, one in October - to help prepare retreat registrants physically, emotionally and spiritually for the weekend itself. One call will be held after the retreat to help participants integrate solitude and retreat as important parts of their daily lives.”

Going on retreat takes courage and involves giving yourself permission to step away from everyday life. Take the first step by finding out more at http://www.elizabethbarbour.com/classes/Solitude-by-the-Sea-Retreat.

TrueBloom announced today the launch of its company and new line of yoga nutrients designed to tap into an under-served market and meet the specific lifestyle needs and values of the yoga community. The concept of TrueBloom grew from a desire to support yogis with pure, organic nutrients that can help them uncover beauty and wellness from within.

The Birth of TrueBloom
Former co
rporate executives, husband and wife team Kathryn and Michael Romley initially started their yoga practice to find a great workout and soon realized yoga could provide a host of benefits such as lowering stress, finding life balance, building core strength, increasing immunity, and more. While looking to enhance their practice off the mat, the couple found a bewildering maze of nutritional supplements but none specifically suited for yogis. Truebloom was conceived to serve the yoga market as well as be an active part of the yoga community through its products and business practices including eco-consciousness and giving back 1% of revenues to help others and the environment.

"Yoga has begun to be recognized as much more than a series of poses and stretches," stated Michael Romley, co-founder of TrueBloom. "It is aspiring to whole body wellness in mind, body and soul. TrueBloom was created with this goal in mind. Even with proper nutrition, living in modern society puts many burdens on our bodies. TrueBloom yoga nutrients counter balance the effects of modern living, working as one cog in the wheel to help yogis attain whole body wellness."

Research Reveals Tremendous Market Opportunity

Yoga has quickly become one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. A recent "Yoga in America" survey published in 2008 by Yoga Journal found that 6.9% of U.S. adults or 15.8 million people practice yoga. And the growth is expected to increase with 4.1% of non-practitioners, or about 9.4 million people, who state they will try yoga within the next year. These practitioners now spend $5.7 billion a year on yoga classes and products.

According to Nutrition Business Journal's 2008 analysis, the U.S. dietary supplement industry is $23.7 billion in size. Additional research shows there is very limited to no distribution of nutritional supplements in yoga studios. TrueBloom's business strategy zeros in on the strength and growth of the yoga market, the need for Yoga studio distribution, combined with the growing nutritional supplement market.

TrueBloom's business model will focus on establishing wholesale relationships with a select number of yoga studios and health food retailers nationwide. Additionally, the company offers reseller programs for yoga instructors and other yoga related professionals who do not have a physical studio but want to offer yoga nutrients to their students and clients. TrueBloom yoga nutrients can also be purchased through the company's web site at http://www.truebloom.com.

TrueBloom Gives Back
TrueBloom was founded to encompass yoga values such as integrity, giving back and eco-consciousness in combination with premium yoga nutrients. The company demonstrates its commitment to values and the yoga community by giving back 1% of revenue to support needs in local communities and protect the environment. The company also works to ensure it leaves a small footprint on the earth. For example, the company practices reduce, reuse, recycle mantra in its daily practices and it prints on post-consumer recycled paper with soy ink. Additionally, its point-of-sale retail display stand is made from sustainable bamboo.

TrueBloom's Unique Products for Yogis
The initial product line includes three products: Vitalize, Balance probiotic and Rejuvenate. Each product is specifically formulated to address the needs close to a yogis' heart. TrueBloom's formulations were all developed to help yogis in their journey to optimum wellness through the use of powerful antioxidants, omega fatty acids and probiotics to help nourish the body from the inside out. The products are designed as a continuum of care to fill in nutritional cracks and provide potent nutrients to counterbalance the effects of modern living. The nutrients are derived from mostly organic fruit and herb seed flours. The flours are extracted with a proprietary process that yields the rich nutrients of these 'super' food-based supplements.
