Anusara yoga guides students to give themselves fully in each moment to every pose with their whole body, mind and heart. The intention of this yoga is to uplift the mind and spirit while strengthening and stretching the body. Great care is given to healthy physical alignment and to helping students find an inner sense of well-being. Anusara means "stepping into the flow of grace", or "following your heart". It is a highly therapeutic form of yoga.
In our classes, you will learn an elegant method of alignment, including energy loops, spirals and biomechanical principles. This method enhances body awareness and creates increased balance, strength, and flexibility. Anusara is the fastest-growing system of hatha yoga today. John Friend founded Anusara in 1977.
